My Life in Words…

Simone Dankenbring wrote her very first story in first grade starting with the sentence, “I love corn.” Her love for writing catapulted throughout her life as she discovered that through words, she came alive.

She spent much of her early childhood years collecting roly polys and butterflies, climbing trees and creating artistic masterpieces.

In elementary school, Simone dreamed of becoming a doctor, adopting a huge number of children and rescuing stray animals. Her imagination was fueled by her childhood best friend and identical twin sister, Syrone. Together, they created stories, songs, recipes and adventures.

Simone enrolled in college with the intent to join the medical field. There, she was presented with the idea from her English professor, to become a published author. She began writing for magazine publications, small literary markets, various literary endeavors, including songwriting and her blog, chocolatecovereddaydreams.

Simone believes that nothing is impossible! You can find her practicing speaking and writing in Korean, mastering medical surgical skills via medical apps, collecting large words to add to her overwhelming vocabulary, playing the piano and spending time outdoors. Simone’s love for childhood memories provides endless hunts for vintage toys and books to share.

Look for four soon to be published children’s books in the Neecy and Nay Nay series, - the first two will be published on February 4, 2025.
